CURRENT 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR ENROLLMENT IS NOW CLOSED. IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON THE INTEREST LIST, WE WILL CONTACT YOU VIA EMAIL IF A SPOT OPENS UP.
Please be advised ESS does not "hold spots" or have part time rates. Supervisor will email you with how to enroll if you are to secure a spot. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT THE PAPERWORK ON THIS SITE BEFORE WE ASK YOU TO.
Dates to Remember:
*School is closed April 8th-April 12th for Spring Break.
*School & ESS are closed Monday May 27th for Memorial Day.
*Last day of school is Thursday June 6th.
2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
There will be a new process for how the district will be doing ESS registration for the 2024/25 school year (see timeline on flyer above). Please visit the Poway Unified School District's Extended Student Services (ESS) page to access the link to the lottery (child MUST be registered in a PUSD school to complete) year by clicking HERE

Steps to complete the enrollment process:
- If you are to receive a spot in ESS and have been contacted via email by Jen, please follow the instructions given to complete enrollment.
- Any paperwork that needs to be submitted may be printed and physically turned in OR you may scan and email it to us. NO PHOTOS EXCEPTED.
- A yearly $150 non-refundable registration fee per family and first month's fees are due to start.

ESS Forms
We are now mostly paperless for enrollment. Our school year hours of operation are as follows: TK 11:45am-6pm and K-5th 2:05pm-6pm M,T,W,F with Thursdays being 12:25pm-6:00pm. **Kindergarten Introductory Days (KID days) have different pricing for August & September. Please see our fall Fee Schedule tab for pricing and contract options.Fee Adjustment Form to enroll for breaks, take vacations, withdraw from program, change contract, etc.)

ESS Overview
Mission Statement - "E.S.S. is a bridge between school and home where children are encouraged to learn, create, and explore within their school, community, and world."
Program Overview - This extended-day program expands the excellence of each child's school experience into before and after school. E.S.S. is staffed by highly qualified professionals and trained program assistants. The staff provides for the academic and social needs of children in safe and nurturing environments. There is time, space, encouragement, and support for learning good study habits.
Program History - The E.S.S. program began in 1980 and is now offered in every elementary school in the Poway Unified School District. All children who attend elementary school in the District are eligible to enroll.
Voluntary Use Program - ESS is a voluntary use program. All PUSD elementary schools have an Extended Student Services program on their campus. Our organization works diligently to accommodate and serve working families in need of before and after school care. A student's enrollment at an elementary school does not guarantee them ESS enrollment. As a growing organization, each ESS site may experience limitations that factor into the enrollment capacity and may prohibit the acceptance of additional students at any given time.
Program Activities - Our program is geared toward expanding each child's world through arts & crafts projects, science activities, reading and language arts reinforcement, and math concept development. Our program reinforces the social, motor, and academic skills children learn in the classroom.
E.S.S. Hours- for the 2023/24 school year: TK 11:45am-6pm and K-5th 2:05pm-6pm M,T,W,F with Thursdays being 12:25-6:00pm. Kindergarten Introductory Days (KID days) have different hours and pricing since the kinders get out of school at 11:45am M-F. Please see our fall Fee Schedule tab for pricing and contract options.
We believe that the children's extended day will be enriched by providing a balanced activity calendar that will support their growth and development. We want to encourage the children to explore their interests, motivate them to achieve their personal best, and relax and have fun with friends.
